Cruising the Mediterranean is an exciting choice for a cruise vacation. The diversity of destinations, cultures, and things to do and see is amazing for such a small geographical area. If you love history, great cities, or idyllic romantic islands, the Mediterranean is for you!
Great guide book for getting general background information on the Mediterranean, its history, and its ports of call. Especially good if you don't want to purchase numerous books to plan for just one day in port. Only book in list that focuses solely on the Mediterranean. Interesting factoids about each port will impress your cruise dinner companions and new friends.
Frommer's guide covers 45 European ports of call in both northern Europe and the Mediterranean. Good information on attractions close to the port, the best excursions (both organized and on your own), and the best shopping buys. Also some excellent discussion on numerous American and European cruise lines and ships.
Beautiful color photos and grpahics of European ports of call. Book has a wonderful look and is excellent for browsing. Like other DK guide books, this one has interesting three-dimensional views and cutaway models of significant landmarks.
Coverage of the most popular ports in Europe, with restaurants, key sights, entertainment, and shops, all easily reached from the pier.
This new Insight Guide provides an easy-to-read history of the area and useful tips for cruisers. The guide also artfully describes over 120 Mediterranean ports of call. The wonderful photos on almost every page are my favorite parts of the book. They will sell anyone on a Mediterranean cruise!
