The Bottom Line

Entertaining read for first-time or experienced cruisers. Chester's review of the Celebrity Galaxy cruise ship and his experiences in each of the Caribbean ports of call is fun reading for all travelers.

Since Chester describes the Celebrity Galaxy in great detail, including onboard activities and cuisine, the book is especially useful for those planning a cruise on this ship.

Chester's entertaining writing certainly got me in the mood to cruise.

Guide Review - Book Review -- What Time Is the Midnight Buffet?

Chester and his wife Kris celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on the Celebrity Galaxy. It was their first cruise, and they found the cruise experience to be exhilarating and addictive--they are hooked on cruising like many of the rest of us!

Chester kept a detailed cruise diary from the time they started planning the anniversary cruise through the vacation and their ultimate return home. Having never cruised before, Kris and Chester felt many of the same uncertainties and trepidations we all felt on our first cruise. He has shared the entire experience in this entertaining book. I felt like I was along on the cruise as Kris and Chester visited Key West, Cozumel, Belize, and the Bahamas.

Along with the travelogue, Chester shares his accident-prone nature, which just makes the book more entertaining. During the cruise, he was attacked by a sliding glass door and almost left behind by the ship while locked in a building, but he still had a wonderful time!
